  • What options do I have when it comes to choosing paint colors, countertops, flooring, and so on?

    We work with preferred businesses and vendors. While we may recommend these vendors, you can get your designs from anywhere you prefer. You can choose your own colors and designs.

  • Should I buy land before talking to the home builder or should I talk to the home builder before buying the land?

    For the best results, we recommend talking to our team at Bogert Construction before buying land.

  • How involved does the homeowner have to be?

    That’s up to you. You can be as involved or uninvolved as you like.

  • Do I have to have homeowner’s insurance before building a home?

    No, we carry builder's risk insurance for construction. This covers everything for you while we finish the construction.

  • Can you build from online prints?

    Yes, we can happily work from prints you get online.

  • Do you have an existing set of prints to be chosen from? Does it change any of the costs?

    We do have existing prints you can peruse. If you use an existing print, you can decrease your costs.

  • Can I save money by doing some of the work myself?

    No, we don’t recommend trying to save money this way.

  • Do you build in subdivisions?

    Yes, we can complete work in subdivisions.

  • Do you work with real estate agents?

    Yes, we typically partner with Lafayette Listing Realty. However, we also have relationships with many other realtors in the area.

  • If we have the land, can you build on it?

    Yes, if you have land, we can build you a custom home.

  • Do you connect utilities?

    Yes, as part of our building process, we will connect the utilities.

  • Do you do the landscaping and hardscaping?

    Yes, we can include landscaping and hardscaping in your project. We will discuss this option in your consultation.

  • What areas do you build in?

    Our service area extends 35 miles around Lafayette, IN.

  • Do you have references?

    Yes, we have plenty of references. Ask us if you’d like to see them.

  • Can you include extra features like a pool, hot tub, basketball court, fencing, and blinds?

    Yes, we take pride in offering the custom finishes you want.

  • Do you build barndominimums?

    Yes, we can build houses that look like barns. Please note that this is not the same thing as pole barn houses.

  • How many paint colors can I have?

    The standard number of paint colors is three. However, for an additional cost, you can have as many paint colors as you would like.

  • How long does it take from start to finish?

    For planning and preparation, it takes one to three months. Building usually takes about four to six additional months. Your project timeline may vary.
